The Blue Book (2023) states that China's steel industry has invested huge costs and is determined to accelerate ultra-low emission transformation. The ultra-low emission transformation has made breakthrough progress in China's steel industry's transformation towards low energy consumption, low pollution, and green manufacturing. The next step will continue to accelerate the process of ultra-low emission transformation in the steel industry, striving to complete the transformation of over 80% of steel production capacity by 2025.

This press conference is hosted by the China Iron and Steel Industry Association and hosted by the China Social Responsibility Hundred People Forum, with the theme of "Green Empowerment, Low Carbon Future, and Responsible Big Country Steel". Qu Xiuli stated that the compilation system of the Blue Book (2023) reflects the practical exploration of steel enterprises in promoting social responsibility management, fully demonstrating the responsibility of the steel industry in economic and social development. "Of course, we should also be aware that there are still some shortcomings in the current social responsibility work of steel enterprises, such as the need to strengthen responsibility capacity building and the need to increase the proportion of enterprises issuing social responsibility reports."

Qu Xiuli stated in her speech that 2023 is a crucial year for focusing on the new situation faced by the steel industry, positioning new goals for industry development, and comprehensively promoting high-quality development of the steel industry. Faced with the still complex and severe external environment, the Steel Association has gradually formed the "1231" industry development goals and the "232" key work promotion system for the steel industry. The steel industry fully leverages its industrial advantages, adheres to green and low-carbon policies, promotes industry transformation, demonstrates social responsibility, and strives to create a new situation of high-quality development in the steel industry.

Qu Xiuli emphasized that while strengthening and optimizing the main business of steel, the vast number of steel enterprises have the courage to take on responsibilities, conscientiously fulfill social responsibilities, and made outstanding contributions to promoting sustainable economic and social development.
